World and Continental Quantum City Prize: Celebrating Quantum in Public Space

The Quantum City Prize recognizes innovative initiatives bringing Quantum Science and Technology into the public spaces of cities around the world.

Imagine encountering quantum science and technology while walking through your local square, waiting for the metro, or crossing a busy avenue — that is the spirit of the Quantum City Prize. In these initiatives, the public will encounter quantum content serendipitously into their daily lives.

On each continent: Africa, Asia, Europe, North & Central America, Oceania, and South America and per category one prize will be awarded. The winners of each continent will then compete for the World Quantum City Prize, to be announced during the Closing Ceremony of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, in January 2026.

To apply, proposers must first register online by 14 July 2025, and submit a dossier detailing their initiative until 14 October 2025.

Continental Award Events will occur during November 2025 and the World Quantum City Prize Award Ceremony will take place in January 2026.
