National quantum strategies are emerging around globe and will be the focus point of our discussion. We will analyze what makes quantum different in the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland. We will not just ask how we can achieve quantum advantage, but who will have this advantage? How are international relations affected by the current tech race and who will profit from being “first”?

Join us in a virtual panel discussion from 11am-12:30pm (EDT) on Friday, April 14th, featuring not just quantum scientists, but also legal experts, political philosphers and more. Speakers: Mira Luca Wolf-Bauwens (IBM Responsible Quantum Computing Lead), Roger Melko (Professor, University of Waterloo and Perimeter Institute), Cecilia Ayres Peres (PhD student, TU Munich), Tina Dekker (Articling Student, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP), Rodrigo Araiza Bravo (PhD student, Harvard University) and the founder of the QEP Joan Arrow (PhD student, University of Waterloo).
