The International Association of Artificial Intelligence (I2AI) is hosting a workshop on the Fundamentals of Quantum Computing to introduce participants to the basic differences between quantum and classical computing and discuss challenges faced by developers of real quantum computers. The workshop will cover fundamental concepts of quantum physics such as Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, Quantum Superposition, Quantum Entanglement, and Schrödinger’s cat. Additionally, the origin of the qubit and its differences from classical bits will be discussed, as well as the differences between classical and quantum logic gates. The workshop will also address the challenge of obtaining fault-tolerant systems and provide examples of quantum computing applications. Finally, the history and implications of quantum computing will be discussed in relation to classical computing. The event is intended for students of computer science, physics, and mathematics, technology professionals, engineers, software developers, researchers, and business leaders interested in learning about the emerging technology of quantum computing and exploring its potential applications in various areas such as finance, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and cryptography.
