As a means of promoting and honoring The World Quantum Day, The Center for the Promotion of Science, Physicists’ Club of the Faculty of Sciences, and Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, are organizing an outreach lecture on the captivating power and benefits of quantum computing.

What are the benefits of quantum computers? What is a qubit? Can the state of one particle be known only by the measurement performed on another, significantly distant particle?  Which peculiar novelties does quantum entanglement bring us?  What is dense coding? Is quantum teleportation a segment of science fiction or a real life phenomenon? What are the benefits of quantum computing in stock market, securing data safety,  producing novel materials, medications and agricultural seeds, optimizing traffic control?

The answer to these questions will be given by Dr. Sonja Gombar, a research assistant at Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. The talk is aimed at general public and physics students.
