Seven cities recognized for bringing quantum science into public life.

The winners of the Quantum City Prize 2025 were announced at the Closing Ceremony of the United Nations International Year of Quantum Science and Technology in Accra, Ghana.

🏆 World Quantum City Prize

🥇1st Place: Putignano, Italy

"Quantum Paradoxes in Papier-Mâché: An Urban Journey Through Science, Art, and Wonder"

Continental Quantum City Prizes were also awarded across Africa, Asia, Europe, North & Central America, and South America.

Prof. Yasser Omar, President of PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute and Coordinator of the World Quantum Day, announced: "Congratulations to all the winners and applicants for bringing awareness about quantum science and technology to the public spaces of their cities!
