International Quantum Discovery Day 2026 is a youth-focused outreach event designed to introduce quantum science and technology to students at an early and formative stage. Held online and in a bilingual English-Spanish format, the event will connect participants across the Americas with educators, speakers, and role models from the international quantum community.
The initiative aims to make quantum science more approachable, inclusive, and visible for students who may be encountering the field for the first time. Through engaging talks, educational demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants will gain an accessible introduction to key concepts such as qubits, superposition, quantum computing, communication, and cryptography, while also learning why these areas matter for the future of science and society.
This event is being developed as an initial flagship activity within the International Quantum Youth Initiative (IQYI), a broader framework intended to cultivate early talent, strengthen international connections, and expand access to quantum education for young learners. As such, International Quantum Discovery Day is envisioned not merely as a single event, but as the first step in building a sustained regional pipeline that will later support larger programs such as the Latin American Quantum Youth Summit.
